The Verdict
The WUUK Smart Doorbell Pro and Eufy’s E340 dual cam video doorbell make for an interesting comparison. They both share a hybrid power scheme allowing for battery or wired operation, and both can use a base station for secure storage with no subscription required. WUUK includes this in the starter pack as it’s required - the doorbell has no storage of its own. Eufy, on the other hand, includes an 8GB internal memory on the E340, with the option to use a Homebase 2 or Homebase 3 for additional storage.
If you have the option to use wired power then connecting the Eufy E340 to a Homebase is a good idea. Using the two in combination enables pre-roll video recording that vastly improves the ability of the doorbell to capture all of the action when motion is detected. The overall score I’ve used in this comparison reflects that, but I’ll note the differences with and without in the relevant sections below.
When running on battery power, the WUUK Smart Doorbell Pro outlasted Eufy’s offering by 20 days, which is significant. The 2K recording quality is sharper on the WUUK model excels at night with longer range and better sharpness and contrast than Eufy can deliver. Unfortunately, if two-way talk is important WUUK suffers from poor audio quality and limited pickup range. Eufy is the better pick for that use case.
WUUK offers no package detection feature at all and has limited visibility of the ground, so is no competition for the E340 with its dual cameras and Delivery Guard features set. Overall Eufy is the better buy in terms of performance and features but will set you back considerably more up front.

The Quick Version
Camera: The 2K main camera on both doorbells delivers a high quality image, with Eufy sporting a resolution of 2040x1536 and WUUK having a very similar 2052x1540. WUUK seems to use a better compression scheme which delivers a sharper image in daylight, and is also coupled with suprior infra-red illumination for visiblity further out than the E340.Audio: Audio quality is a big differentiator here. WUUK performed very poorly in these tests with poor encoding quality and very limited microphone and speaker volume. This would be fine for talking to someone right in front of the doorbell but not much else. The E340 did much better with very good audibility and pickup range, but suffered from intermittent break ups on the doorbell speaker.
Notifications: Notification delivery was comparable between the two models when running on battery power, with WUUK able to include a usable thumbnail of the event more a little reliably.
Motion Detection: WUUK includes a radar sensor as well as infra-red for motion detection which allowed for early detection and wake up of the camera. This performed significantly better for motion coming in from the side than Eufy, but once connected to wired power and the Homebase Eufy's pre-roll recording more than compensated for this by being able to include several seconds of action before motion was detected.
Smart Features: Eufy's person detection was resonably reliable and the E340 obviously includes package detection as well with a dedicated downward facing camera to help with accuracy. WUUK only has human detection, which I found to be fairly unreliable.
Battery: The E340 held it's initial charge better, with a higher reported state of charge after 30 days. WUUK ended up lasting longer by a considerable margin when tested side-by-side until they died. This makes WUUK the better performer for overall battery life.
App Experience: The Eufy app performs well, is fast, and largely well laid out. Live streaming is very quick to start, and there are a typical set of privacy and security controls on offer. The WUUK perfroms almost as well, but takes longer to start a video stream and has a less polished feel.

Camera Performance
While both of the main cameras (I say ‘main’ because the E340 has two) are full 2K sensors, there are some distinct differences in performance. The Eufy E340 runs a resolution of 2040x1536 and the WUUK Smart Doorbell Pro has a very similar 2052x1540.
In daytime tests WUUK outperformed Eufy on clarity and color balance with the test chart readable out to 7.2m (23ft) while the E340 only managed 6.7m (21ft). It’s not a big differentiator, but the interesting finding was how the two doorbells handled compression. On paper they should perform almost identically given their respective resolutions, but Eufy’s compression was quite aggressive and resulted in many significant video artifacts which disrupted the ability to see fine details.
At night WUUK again came out on top with the chart visible to 5.9m (19ft) compared to Eufy’s 4.6m (15ft). Infra-red illumination and contrast was excellent on the WUUK camera resulting in a significantly longer visible range.

WUUK Smart Doorbell Pro | 9.0 | 8.4 | 6.7 |
Eufy E340 | 8.4 | 6.6 | 7.5 |
Day Score - A weighted score based on the maximum distance a Landolt C vision test chart can be read through the live view of the doorbell.
Night Score - the same test repeated under night vision conditions. The weighting here is more favorable as this range is typically shorter than during the day.
Dynamic Range - The number of swatches on an OECF 36 test chart that can be clearly or partially defined by software selection on a captured screenshot.
Audio Performance
Eufy is the clear winner here, but it’s not perfect. Microphone and speaker volume were excellent, with both the app user and the outside caller able to hear each other without issues out to the full 10m (30ft) range of the test zone. However, the outside caller experienced regular skips in the audio stream when listening to the app user speaking and both parties noted significant loss of dynamic range in the voice reproduction suggesting a lower sample size being used in the encoding.
WUUK seems to have used lower quality audio components, with both the microphone and speaker in the doorbell having very limited pickup range and volume. Normal speaking volume could only be heard in the app if the speaker was less than 1.1m (4ft) away. Outdoor reproduction was a little better, with the app user being audible out to 1.5m (5ft), which is still very limited. Audio reproduction in the app was fine, with no obvious quality issues, but the doorbell speaker generated significant distortion leading to a poor overall experience.
While the WUUK doorbell can handle direct conversation with callers OK, it’s not a good experience. Eufy’s issues aren’t ideal, but they don’t significantly impact the conversation, and recorded video benefits from the long-range pickup and decent quality as well.

Two-way Talk - A combined score which rates two-way talk quality based on the presence of distortion, encoding artifacts, dropouts and audible range.
Recorded - A combined score which rates recorded audio quality based on the presence of distortion, encoding artifacts, dropouts and audible range.
Indoor Range - The maximum distance from the doorbell an outside visitor could be understood when using the app (max tested range 10m).
Outdoor Range - The maximum distance from the doorbell an outside visitor could clearly hear the app user speaking (max tested range 10m).
Notification Performance
Prompt delivery of motion alerts is a key requirement for a video doorbell to be useful, and both of these models come in fairly similar on the surface, but with some interesting nuance in my test results. Eufy was slightly faster at delivering text-only notifications with an average delay of 4.9s compared to WUUK’s 5.3s. Adding thumbnails - which I consider very important for notifications to be actually useful - WUUK beats out Eufy with an average delay of 10.9s versus Eufy’s 13.6s.
Waiting over 10 seconds for a notification is not good in any circumstance and is long enough that you’ll start missing what happened in time to respond, certainly for deliver drivers. They aren’t waiting around that long.
On the subject of thumbnails, it’s also important that what is included shows the cause of the motion event. Both doorbells had some issues here, either failing to send a thumbnail or capturing a still image too late to show the triggering person. Both doorbells managed this a little over half the time during the day, but Eufy managed 90% correct detection at night where WUUK only got it 33% of the time.

Speed - A weighted score grading the delivery delay of notifications combining times for thumbnails, text, and doorbell rings.
Thumbnails - The percentage of tests in which a usable thumbnail was included in the notification.
Text-only Speed - The average delivery time of notifications using text-only.
Thumbnail Speed - The average delivery time of notifications including a rich media component, usually a still image of the triggering object.
Motion Detection Performance
The ability to capture motion events reliably is obviously crucial to any security camera, and video doorbells are no exception. There are a few key criteria here: How many motion events get missed, how long do es the camera take to start recording, and how much of the event is the doorbell able to catch. The Eufy E340 wins two of these handily on battery power alone and takes the third when using the wired power/Homebase combination that enables pre-roll recording.
WUUK’s radar sensor seems to be able to detect motion before the camera can see it, so it actually does very well on camera wake time capturing movement across the 94% of the field of view consistently. When I tested on battery power the E340 only captures 71% of the frame on average. Oddly, this is substantially better at night (90%) than during daylight (54%).
WUUK didn’t do so well on reliably catching events, however, missing me in 22% of test passes compared to Eufy’s 6%. Likewise, Eufy’s forward detection range is longer, with an average recording distance of 4.5m (14ft) compared to WUUK’s 3.3m (10ft).
With pre-roll recording enabled on wired power, the E340 had no issues with either camera wake time or approach recording distance, with both approaching a perfect score. This is typical with pre-roll support as you gain several second of video before motion is detected, which largely eliminates any delay factor. As this feature requires an optional purchase of the Homebase, so I’ve used the base package scores for comparison.

Missed Events - Based on the percentage of test events that were not detected or recorded by the doorbell.
Camera Wake - A measure of how quickly the camera can begin recording when motion is detected.
Event Capture - A weighted score based on the average distance an approaching person is recorded (how much of an event is captured).
Detection Range - The average distance motion was detected and recorded by the doorbell during morning, afternoon, and night lighting conditions.
Smart Detection Performance
Both doorbell models support the basic person detection features, with Eufy also including custom motion zones to help define exactly where you want to be notified about activity. The E340 also features specialized package security features including the second downward facing camera, package detection, package monitoring, collection reminders and tamper alerts.
I score package features separately to general smart detection as it’s of particular interest to many doorbell owners and not all models include it. WUUK has no package security capabilities at all, so it’s a clear deal breaker if that’s what you’re after.
Eufy’s human detection algorithm performs well enough to be useful but is below average on its accuracy. It correctly detected a human on 76% of the 30 capture tests. WUUK does hold up at all here as it only correctly identified a human on 10 tests, for an accuracy of 33%.

Battery Performance
When comparing battery life between these two models there is are some important distinctions to make. Firstly, both models can use wired power to recharge the battery, but still use the battery to power the doorbell itself. Second, the E340 has a removable battery pack. This allows for keeping a charged spare (sold separately) for quick swap outs. WUUK has opted for an integral battery which necessitates removing the doorbell and taking it inside to charge for several hours.
On performance, Eufy reported a higher state of charge after the 30 day test period, but when running them down in a high traffic area after that WUUK lasted considerably longer. I tested the E340 twice and found the reported battery level dropped significantly faster in the lower half, so this could be due to battery design or optimistic reporting earlier in the discharge cycle.
The scoring below is based on the 30 day value as that’s a consistent comparison. All doorbells go through the same test cycle which gives a more consistent baseline. That said, the run-down test is in a similarly high traffic area with some 20-30 motion events per day, so is actually comparable if not more intense. I provide both values to give a better picture. Keeping in mind you’ll likely get longer run times by using less energy intensive settings and less traffic in most household situations.

App Experience
Both the Eufy Security and WUUK apps are reasonable and straightforward. Everything is largely findable by poking around and the apps respond well for accessing live video views and retrieving recordings from a basic filterable list of events. Scrubbing through events wasn’t particularly smooth for either app which can make quickly checking into an event a bit frustrating.
Live response time is very fast for both doorbells. Eufy comes out on top here with a very fast 1.1 seconds average start time. WUUK is close behind, though, at only 2.4 seconds so there’s no issue here responding to doorbell rings or motion events that you want to respond to.
I did encounter some minor bugs in the WUUK app which added a little frustration and cost WUUK some points along with having limited support documentation available. I find Eufy Security is a more polished experience, as you would expect from a much bigger brand, but some features were still a little unintuitive to find.
Eufy offers more in the way of privacy and security controls, with the ability to block areas of the image with privacy zones, and audio recording easily turned off if desired. Basic two factor authentication is offered by both brands, and firmware updates are handled for you, which ensures any security bugs are fixed as quickly as can be hoped for.
